“PAYAL” is an initiative that had its inception in mid-nineties, with the aim to nurture young budding talents, in the field of rich Indian Classical dance. It had a humble beginning with twin sisters joining us for Kathak classes. Thus the odyssey commenced and we have continued to write our success story since then.
Presently we provide dance training classes, for Classical (Kathak), (Bharat Natyam) Rabindra Nritya, Creative Dance and Western Dance. We are affiliated to “BANGIYA SANGEET PARISHAD” (in the banners of KALANGAN), to facilitate our students to appears for the Board Examination in Dance. Additionally, we have our own Dance Troupe the members of which are equipped with laudable choreographic skills to perform tailor mode call shows on varied occasion and events.
Our team is headed by Mrs. Mousumi Bhandari, who herself is a dancer of great repute and who can work wonders in choreographic creativity. She has completed her fifth year degree (NRITYA BISHARAD) in Kathak Dance from Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh); Senior Diploma in Rabindra Nritya from ‘Bangiya Sangeet Parishad (Kolkata)’ and Junior Diploma in Bharat Natyam from ‘Bangiya Sangeet Parishad (Kolkata)’. Her wide gamut of experience in the field of creative dance under ‘SINJON’ (Kolkata) and numerous other professional dance troupes has helped her to establish an identity for PAYAL.
We also conduct Annual Dance Programme every year, with due media coverage. The ‘Recorded Live’ telecast of our dance programmes takes place in few television channel of city, duly corroborated by numerous Kolkata base FM, Radio Partners on different occasions.
